Happy Thanksgiving and Welcome to This Weeks Review

Thanksgiving week as expected was relatively quiet with low volume and surprisingly low volatility. THE S&P was up a small amount while the big leadership moved to high beta, small stocks and especially Nasdaq Biotechnology on the week.

We are in a seasonally strong time of the year for the market which may help to balance some of the angst as we wait on the Fed. The market may have already priced in the first hike but it will be the announcement and the sense of cadence of further increases that will drive the indices.

For now, I have identified some leading industry groups and a number of stocks that are in a prime position to lead into year end. I suspect world news may still be a big driver but for now I will follow the market’s lead and not fight the tape.
